Graduate Assistant
Position: Graduate Assistant to Graduate Recruitment Coordinator
Schedule: 10 hours per week
Timeline: August 20, 2018 through May 24, 2019
Stipend: $3,000.00
Tuition Waiver Credit: 6 credits per semester
Description: Office of Graduate Studies is seeking a graduate student to assist in the recruitment of graduate students. The graduate student will be awarded a 10 hour assistantship for fall 2018 and spring 2019 and report to the Graduate Recruitment Coordinator.
Responsibilities:
o Assist Graduate Recruitment Coordinator with
o Implementing graduate recruitment plan
o Organizing and conducting industry, college, and community recruitment events
o Developing and maintaining contact with perspective students through multi- media approaches
o Developing recruitment publications and online resources
o Serving as a resource for graduate applicants through the application, admission, and enrollment process
o Conducting and summarizing data searches to support the recruitment process
o Assist with recruiting and public relations activities of Office of Graduate Studies, Graduate University Marketing and Enrollment, and University Admissions
o Regularly prepare and review progress reports with graduate recruitment coordinator
o Other projects as assigned
Qualifications:
o Currently enrolled or accepted into a Towson University graduate program
o Ability to effectively represent Towson University to prospective graduate students
o Ability to initiate and manage multiple projects simultaneously
o Excellent oral, written communication, and problem-solving skills
o Ability to work well independently and in groups with internal and external constituents
o Excellent time management and long-term task planning skills
o Ability to work collaboratively with peers and university administration
o Available during day hours at least two days a week and the evening at least one day a week
Computer and Social Media Skills:
o Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
o Proficiency with data searches and web pages
o Proficiency with social media such as Facebook, Twitter, digital bulletin boards

o Develop marketing, recruitment, and project management skills needed for professional work roles
o Expand knowledge of educational paths to support community work force needs
