Doctoral Teaching Assistantships in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences

The Department of Computer and Information Sciences provides Teaching Assistantships for the D.Sc. in IT students.
Students may serve as an instructor of a class, assist professors in teaching classes, or may work with Technical Staff as IT Support for the department.
Some experience may be required. These positions are limited each academic year.

Requirements:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Full-time graduate student in the D.Sc. in Information Technology program registered for at least 6 units
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5 

Application Procedure:
A completed assistantship application includes the following:
1.      Application letter which responds to the following questions:
  • What are your reasons for applying to this assistantship?
  • Do you currently work full-time?
  • Do you receive financial assistance from any other sources?
  • Have you passed the Qualifying Exam?
  • Who is your academic advisor?
  • Have you received a Teaching Assistantship from the Department previously? If yes, since when? Which classes have you been teaching?
2.      A copy of applicant’s updated resume
3.      A copy of applicant's updated unofficial transcript
4.      Recommendation letter from your academic advisor. (This letter must be submitted directly to the program director without input from the student.)

Your advisor must send the recommendation letter by email Directly to D.Sc. in IT Program Director Dr. Lu: clu@towson.edu

Applications are due no later than Friday, May 20, 2022.
