Supply Chain Management Program Graduate Assistant (GA)

BACKGROUND
This is a 10-hour per week administrative GA assistantship for the 2023 academic year. Specifically, the position requirements are to: (1) assist with program development and enhancements, (2) participate in recruitment and marketing initiatives, (3) assist with public relations, and (4) plan special events. The position will begin in fall 2022. Pending a successful performance review, the position may continue to spring 2023.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specifically, the following needs are to be met:
Manage program social media: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram
  • Post news articles, relevant content, manage and maintain pages
  • Reflect mission and vision of Towson University in posts
  • Monitor discussions to ensure decorum of public comments
  • Aim for 2-3 content posts per week
Assist in managing program inquiries
  • Manage web and other online inquiries
  • Monitor and respond to program emails
Maintain program bulletin board and promotions within Stephens Hall
  • Create and distribute fliers and marketing materials
Plan student social events and help to promote collegiality between students
Assist with program outreach to industry
  • Plan workshops and information sessions for professionals
  • Assist with managing corporate contacts as needed

Other duties may emerge on an ad-hoc basis. The GA is expected to meet with the Program Director once per week to discuss progress on ongoing tasks and a plan for the next week. This meeting will be facilitated by a weekly report that summarizes status.

The GA may work on assigned tasks at home or on campus, and the GA will need access to a personal computer or tablet to complete the work. 

QUALIFICATIONS
·     Towson University graduate student (preferably a student enrolled in a College of Business graduate program)
·     Maintain a cumulative and semester GPA of 3.0 or above
·     Must be student friendly and customer service oriented
·     Ability to complete projects through all stages of management
·     Excellent oral and written communications skills
·     Knowledge of applications such as Canva and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
·     Be organized, ability to multi-task, display flexibility, and work well under pressure
·     Comfortable working in a dynamic, student friendly, and fast-paced environment
·     Creativity and excellent work ethic 

HOURS AND COMPENSATION
The GA will be expected to work 10-hours per week for the fall 2022 and spring 2023 terms. The student will receive a 6-credit (approx. 2 classes) tuition waiver for each term and a stipend.
