Teaching Assistantship (20 Hour)

The Tutoring & Learning Center (TLC) coordinates the student support services areas of study skills development and academic support. Our goal is to assist students with becoming independent learners. We offer diagnostic and prescriptive assistance designed to help students achieve academic success. Our desire is that students reach their academic goals, promoting achievement, and integrity in the educational environment.
 
Responsibilities:
· Manage an online course (ARP) for around 150-200 undergraduate students on academic probation, including: student/staff communication, tracking student progress, arranging Orientation and Culmination Meetings, grading student assignments, revising the course, and monitoring the ARP email
· Act as a liaison between the TLC and Academic Advising Center
· Lead and develop academic workshops
· Assist with Academic Group Coaching
· Assist with trainings and peer leader observations
· Represent the office at campus events
· Maintain regular office hours
· Other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications:
· Enrolled in graduate school at Towson University
· Evidence of strong communication and organizational skills
· Ability to exercise professionalism, professional judgement, and maturity in all dealings with students, faculty, and staff
· Ability to take initiative and work on assigned projects
· Strong presentation, research, and computer skills
· Dedicated, creative, and engaged
· Demonstrates leadership qualities
